Cleveland rock band Ma Holos has been putting out psychedelic garage songs for four years. Now, the band has put out its latest full-length effort "Bee On A Rose."

The new album, released by Quality Time Records, was inspired by a poem by Frank Stanford titled "Night Time," specifically the lines:

"And the breakwater goes on

making its bruises

The sleep in your eye like a bee on a rose"

"I always kind of think when it comes to writing, it has to be a reflection of what's going on now," said singer-guitarist Robert Joyce. "But for this particular record, I feel like I was pulling a lot of stuff from the past, particularly writing from a place where I feel maybe my mental health was compromised with hedonism."

The result was a collection of 11 songs, with a distinct musical split between the A side and the B side. Side A contains more straightforward rock songs, whereas side B contains slower, layered songs with added synth effects.
