"Feel It’s True is the debut LP from Atlanta’s indie/psych outfit, Rujen, is set to release on September 23 as a follow up to their 2019 Elsewhere EP and 2020 single “Tarot”. The eight song record finds the group exploring lyrical themes of living in the present, trusting your instincts, and staying true to yourself in an ever-changing world that seems to move all too fast. These themes prevail through the group’s DIY spirit of self-recording in their home studio in Decatur, GA to achieve the sound they’ve always envisioned for themselves, leaning on the album’s title as a self-fulfilling prophecy and motto to simply trust the process along the way.

From the densely layered and explosive album opener “Mirage”, lead by a hypnotic, rolling bassline in 6/4 time signature, to the soft and vulnerable charm of “Flicker”, to the fuzzed-out, surf-pop freak out of lead single “New Life”, the band’s debut album incorporates and explores elements from a wide array of influences. Drawing inspiration from timeless albums like The Beatles’ acid-tinged Revolver or the jazz-rock of Steely Dan’s Aja, to the textural and more esoteric art pop of 90s groups like Stereolab and Broadcast, to more contemporary acts like Tame Impala, Dungen, and My Morning Jacket, the band combines various pieces of each to form a detailed, kaleidoscopic puzzle they self-describe as “some sort of indie-psych-hippie-jazz-rock”.

The songs of Feel It’s True aim to keep its listeners on their feet with unexpected twists and turns throughout the album’s 32 ½ minute runtime, a stylistic approach that has always been central to the band’s creative process. Best captured on “To Be Alone”, the album’s closing track, a dreamy, laid-back soundtrack to a light summer’s day is flipped by a sudden bounce and shift to a deeply introspective second act guided by distorted lead guitars and blown-out synths that bubble up and fizzle out into the album’s closing notes of calming clarity."
